Appearance
Summary: A bengal tom with a ginger tinge to his fur. Thick furred, making him look larger than he is.
Eyes: Redpaw has large round eyes, set close together. They are a cool, clear green, with a brightness to them that makes them seem almost luminous. They burn with a deep curiosity, showing a desire to know and understand everything.
Pelt: The young tom inherited his fur pattern from the ancestor's on his mother's side, splotching dark black across his back and side, turning to stripes down his extremities. Following the splotches and stripes is a wave of ginger fur, obviously given to him by his father. The whole underside of his body is white, stopping just as it reaches his nose. His fur is thick and plush, set in silken layers down his body.
Build: Though he still has much growing to do, it is clear that Redpaw will become a powerful cat. His muscles are sculpted so his strength comes from his legs, made for a powerful spring and a strong grasp. If he can sink his claws in, it will be very difficult to throw him off. His stride is long and swift, almost as if he skips rather than walk.
Personality
Likes: Redpaw is a mental sponge, soaking up any and all information he can. He loves to learn, and throws himself into studying with such focus that near nothing can break him out of it. He also has a love of warm weather, seeking out sunny spots to sit and bask in the sunlight and just soak it all in, whenever he has a free moment.
Dislikes: There is nothing Redpaw hates more than rain. He can handle being cold, his fur protecting him from the snows of leafbare, but being cold and wet is horrid. When it is raining, Redpaw is positively miserable, one of the few times when the tom isn't in a good mood.
Fears: Redpaw fears that he will disappoint his family and his clan. He knows he thinks differently from the other cats, and it terrifies him into keeping silent about his own thoughts.
Goals: He wishes to learn continuously and endlessly, through his warrior and elder years. And if he makes it to run among Starclan, he'll continue in his need for knowledge. It is a goal that he knows will never be done.
General: Redpaw is overall a cheerful feline, if an easily distracted one. When something catches his interest, he studies it obsessively until he is either satisfied with what he's learned, or someone manages to tear him away from his obsession. While he fronts an easy-going nature among those in his clan, he is anxious and nervous underneath, worried he might say something to disappoint his peers. You will often find the tom deep in thought, poking his paw at whatever has caught his attention.
History
Background: Flametail is not a tom you would call observant. Shadewhipser had been dropping subtle hints and flirts, each going unnoticed by the ignorant male. Not one for direct confrontation, Shadewhisper turned her subtly down a different rout. Instead of trying to gain his favour, she began a rivalry with Flametail, doing her very best to show him up. It worked. Flametail began to devote large amounts of his attention to Shadewhisper, and finally began to see the hints. While their rivalry continued, it was a friendly competition between two felines in love.
Kithood: Redkit was a troublesome little thing, always attempting to wander away from the nursery far too early. A butterfly would flit before him, and he's go bounding after it, causing the Caretaker no small amount of grief. Once, while the other kits were playing mossball, Redkit found himself watching a pair of bumblebees, taking note of how they seemed to move with purpose. His sister Sandkit, seeing her brother off on his own, came and asked him why he was watching the bees. When Redkit told her, she laughed, called him strange. Hurt by his sister's dismissive reaction to something he found so important. While he continued his behaviour, he never shared his thoughts with Sandkit again, creating a divide between the two.
Apprenticeship: Redpaw has just started his apprentice training.
