Basic Rules:
Please respect each other by treating others as you want to be treated, courteously. Also respect staff decisions, and abide by their decisions, even if it isn’t specifically mentioned here. If you have a quarrel with someone else, take it to PM or to a staff member, but please don’t use the c-box.
Guys if you are not 13, DO NOT JOIN. I can’t always know if you are or not, but if someone is acting immature OOC then I will ask. This is a proboards rule, and could cause the site to be shut down.
Please don’t just join and then disappear. If you do not post some thread of some kind, like an introduction or your first character bio, within 5 days of joining, your account will be deleted.
There is to be no mention of any material considered above PG-13 rating. No explicit mating, or birthing etc. If you can possibly avoid it, just do, if not, fade to black.
This also extends in a way to gore. Please do not explain in detail how your cats innards are hanging out after a brutal wound.
When it comes to language, heavy language will not be tolerated. Remember, nothing above PG-13 rating. If someone asks you to tone it down, please do.
We are a SINGLE account rp site, you have all your characters on one account.
Due to issues concerning SOPA and other copyright laws, it is necessary to be more careful so as to be able to keep the site open. If you are to use an image, PLEASE do not claim it as yours if it is not. So as to not have proboards angered, upload any images to an image provider like tinypic, that way there is no way that we can be blamed or that it can be traced, because tecnically it is on the image provider.
ACTIVITY is stressed on this site. I understand there are some times when it is hard to post, and if you do indeed post in the absences/hiatuses/etc board, you will be released from activity requirements. The activity requirements are simple. One post every three weeks with any one of your normal characters is minimum, however if you do have a High Position you must be prepared to post once a week if required. Activity checks are somewhat different here as well, as part of an activity check you will be required to provide proof of at least one post in the two weeks prior to the beginning of the activity check, or to provide proof of a post (or more if you wish) that you make during the time of the activity check. This is to ensure that you truly are making an effort to stay active. If you decide it is necessary to post a hiatus note, then this will be noted when an activity check comes along, however you may only extend a hiatus/absence note to two months. If you fail to meet these requirements, you will be sent one warning, after that your characters will be archived and your account listed as inactive. All High Positions you own will be adopted out or replaced, depending on what staff, and the member himself wishes. If you have a very important High Position character who is needed we may ask if you would be willing to allow someone to proxy your character, in the case you accept, you would designate who you wished to proxy said character. Those who are active receive rewards for their activity, as they advance ranks they are given both prizes in Prey Bones and other special rewards, as well as amounts of prestige that allow them to create special characters and even independent groups. Though some of these rules may seem a little harsh, they are put in place so as to keep activity up and the site running smoothly.
Character Rules will be on the thread where you can get the code for your bio sheet. Please read them they are just as important as these.
Roleplaying rules:
Here at Secrets we are a liquid time rp, so your characters can be in several threads at once. A time line is established based on what order you started your threads, unless you specifically put (past) in the heading. Try not to overcommit yourself with threads, its best to finish a few threads than start a bunch you cant finish.
We do not allow godmodding, powerplaying or metagaming. If you do not know what these terms mean, please check our guide.
Our minimum word count is 100 words. Some of you may be beginners, and that is okay, but other roleplayers need something to reply to. If you would like to learn how to better lengthen your posts, feel free to contact the admin, Dreamer, who can assign you a mentor if you so wish.
Please guys, do not kill off characters without prior consent from other roleplayers, but don’t think this gives you license to dodge every attack. Try to take decent damage both sides, unless one cat is obviously far more skilled then the other, in that case, staff will help to give a conclusion to the battle.
Try to remember when you are roleplaying kits that they don’t immediately start off walking and talking (or they shouldn’t at least -_-). At around a moon old they will be capable of speech and moderate mobility (as in they can go around the nursery and around camp, but not for long periods of time), before that they won’t be able to do much. They are weaned from their mother’s milk at 2 moons old, and should be eating prey by then.
Flexibility will be allowed when it comes to litters, you may decide the number and gender of kits, as well as their designs. You must still pay for unnatural eye colors and designs, though (to define unnatural designs look to our color pattern sheet). However, if you want more than four kits in a litter, you must contact staff so that they may role for the success of that. For more than four kits to be born and survive in the wild is uncommon, so it is necessary to regulate.
Staff will initiate special events and threads for plot or just site function purposes. This includes Gatherings, Med cat meetings, and even random events. Gatherings will be held every two months.
I may add more rules depending on future issues.
