Many moons have passed since the Great War between the clans, and the new generations of cats have lived in peace for near 90 moons. Some fifty moons passed, and the leaders of the time realized that the simmering frustrations of the war were still there. In an attempt to stall the inevitable, they made a truce. Every fifty moons one kit from each clan would be exchanged to grow up in another clan. Their hope was the mixing of blood, and seeing that cats from other clans were the same, would cool the heads of those cats who were looking for revenge or aggression. The exchange went as well as could be expected, and bonds were formed in the clans, that caused thoughts of war to recede.
Now however, as the second exchange approaches, cats are hesitant. Queens are afraid of losing their kits to some other queen in a different clan, and cats are beginning to grumble. Meanwhile, one the cats who was first exchanged some fifty moons ago has a longstanding grudge to settle. Will war come to the clans again, or can good faith convince the clans to let their angers rest?
